Serviceteam reviews of complaints and review sites for poor service   Bookmark and Share

Every company no matter how dedicated to customer service will end up getting a bad review at some stage. No matter how hard you try someone with a gripe and publish their extperience onto the internet. That's when they will go looking for review sites. But all review sites are not created equally..

Some professional sites - like Qype - are interested in giving the consumer reviews and businesses feedback in a mature way. They won't allow a polarized customer to defame or libel a business and vice versa. And then there are some sites - like canyoutrustthem that shouldn't be in the review business at all. This kind of site has probably been set up by someone vengeful and vindictive. It allows anyone to post lies, anonymously. That might be the difficult customer you've had - or a competitor because noone is vetted.

Here's our review of the review sites!

Qype - If you are looking for a sensible, review from people who are interested in passing on genuine information for the benefit of others, then Qype is the top of the pile. They have a well staffed customer service team that will answer any questions or complaints promptly. Their terms and conditions won't allow anyone to make untruthful allegations and it is generally frowned upon to write anonymous spiteful reviews about companies. A great review site.

Trustpilot - Another great review site. Well staffed, articulate customer service team. This site is interested in fair reviews of companies, products and services. If you've got something bad to say about someone you'll need to prove you've done some business with them. This kind of site really is where to go to get an idea of the sort of company you are entering into a relationship with.

Review Centre - promises honest and impartial reviews and I would say that is exactly what you get with these guys. Repsonsive customer services, they take any complaints seriously and actually investigate a review to check it's authenticity. This is a very good review site.

Moneywise - Concentrating on financial services but a fair and honest review site that won't stand for anything less than an honest review. Good customer service team that will responds quickly and fairly. Another very good review site.

Yelp - Not a very good review site. Anyone can post anonymously and as a business owner there is no way to respond to comments or bad reviews directly. This is probably not the site to go to to get an honest review of a company. It's just a large scale, commercial advertising platform with no sense of community. Avoid it.

Welovelocal - Again, a pretty poor commercial review site. Noone answering complaints or questions. Allows anonymous postings with no editing. Doesn't allow the accused to directly respond to the accuser. You're not going to learn anything by visiting this site.

Ciao - Well what would you expect from a Microsoft company?! This review site is a joke. You'll never get any sort of favourable response from the support team. It is a nightmare to respond to individual reviews and comments. It has a limit so you can't get the full response across and to post it you need to leave a review of someone else! All designed for you to provide them with free content. Not a good review site. Give it a wide bearth becasue you are not going to get any honest reviews on there.

Google places - Don't be Evil is the Google Mantra. It probably should be 'We are too big to care anymore'. Google does search brilliantly. In fact in most of the endeavours it undertakes it does pretty well - review sites are not one of them. Any crank with a Gmail account can post anything they like about anyone. And if it isn't true, there is nothing you can do about it because they don't have anyone answering their customer service emails. You won't get a reliable review here unless it's been imported from somewhere like Qype.

Canyoutrustthem - Well, let's just say - it's a pretty inflammatory title! This is the first of the bad review sites. This is not really a review site - it is a revenge site. People are free to write anonymous, hateful messages about anything. There are no customer services and noone you can send an email to to report a libellous or untruthful comment. Unless you're the sort of damaged, vindictive person who is going to actually use a site like this, you're not going to find anything useful on it.

Businessesfromhell - Small, amateur (in every sense of the word) site that invites libellous and untrue comments from unstable and most likely dangerously depressed individuals with anger issues. Not a site that the decent and law abiding should be entertaining!

Complaintsboard - Vicious site for real cranks! But once you post it there are no buttons to retract it and noone replies to emails. This is probably the most evil complaints site on the internet. If you pull the wings off butterflies are over thirty and still live with your mom, you'll find some like minded people hanging out here...
