What is a radiator power flush?
Today, there are so many old central heating systems that have issues with circulation and boiler noise. These issues are the result of dirt, erosion and impurities from extended periods of time without proper cleaning. Impurities build up over time and become trapped in the radiators and central heating system. Power flushing is the solution to this problem. Power flushing is a procedure in which the heating system is rinsed out with water that is pumped through at low pressure and high speed. Low pressure is used to guarantee a safe removal of the waste products without causing damage to the system. This procedure is even more successful with the added use of strong cleaning chemicals.
Prior to installing a new boiler to an existing heating system, it is crucial that you perform a power flush. A power flush is often a prerequisite to ensure the warranty on your heat exchanger.
The power flushing pump is hooked up to the heating system. It is attached to either end of the radiator. Water is then flushed through, clearing out any impurities and ensuring that the only thing passing through the boiler itself - is clean water. A power flush can make your central heating system run more efficiently, reduce gas consumption, reduce noise and extend the life of the boiler.
