Who are Kinetico?

The company Kinetico was incorporated in 1970 by a couple of engineers, Bill Prior and Jim Kewley, with an objective to produce water treatment systems that are fully automatic and does not use electricity. Kinetico was formerly called the Tangent Company, a small consulting and design business.

It was indeed through the commitment of its founders and employees that Kinetico was able to achieve great triumph. The success of this company can be attributed to the creativity and innovativeness of the two men who founded it. Its commitment to provide customer satisfaction has helped this company to be the leader in water treatment business.

It was the element of water that really brought the two founders into a partnership. It is not the conditioned water as one might think that united them but it was their shared affection for sailing. Bill Prior was into designing sailboats while Jim Kewley was very fond of sailing in the open seas.

It all started when Bill got a request to devise a water conditioner valve from a friend one day. He related the request to Jim and the two decided to establish a company purposely to design and build the valve. Their biggest problem at that time was their lack of knowledge when it comes to water treatment systems. The sheer determination to succeed enabled them to create new schemes that will surpass the overall quality and service of the current water treatment systems available at that time. They agreed on two things that will be the basis for their water treatment system namely: provide a steady supply of soft water, and the system will not use electricity.

The following years saw Kinetico Incorporated gain tremendous success in the water treatment industry. They had steadily expanded their product lines to cover every major area in water treatment applications.

Kinetico produces water treatment products that enhance the quality of water for general use and also in cases where high quality drinking water is required. Kinetico water systems are utilized in residential areas wherein the water is usually supplied by the city. A wide variety of products from Kinetico are also used for commercial purposes. Businesses like restaurants, hospitals and hotels are among the commercial establishments that uses Kinetico water softener, and since their application is vast you probably have used Kinetico water before.

Kinetico technology also applies to most industrial environments. Major industries often utilize great volume of water in producing their own products, and the end of their process often entails great volume of waste water too. Kinetico's water purifying systems can recycle this waste water and convert it to refined soft water. The company also sells filtration systems to private and public water providers. Its patented Macrolite is a filtration product that uses ceramic filter material that is able to remove micro-organisms from the water effectively.
