Who is Matt Cutts?   

Matt Cutts is known in the SEO community as the "Google guru". He works for Google in a department where the major focus is on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and implementation of Google’s webmaster guidelines which includes eliminating spam. Cutts also became well known as the "Porno Cookie" in the adult-entertainment business because he rewards those who reported porno spam with home-made cookies baked by his wife.

Cutts chosen field of study was computer graphics during his stay at the University of Kentucky where he eventually got his Bachelor’s degree. He also got a Master’s degree from University of North Carolina. Matt’s career involving search engines began while he was pursuing his Ph.D. at the same university where he got his Master’s degree. However, he did not get the Ph.D. because he joined Google. Before Google, Cutts worked in one of Google’s subsidiary group known as the Ads engineering and this was where he earned the "Porno Cookie" moniker.

Cutts also worked for the US National Security Agency where he helped in improving the agency’s capability to monitor and document the personal lives of US citizens. His fame began when he joined Google in 2000 assuming the role of a software engineer. He quickly went to work refining and implementing the webmaster guidelines of Google propelling him to even greater heights. He is referred to as the "Google Guy" at times because of his charm and talent to outclass others in almost any topic under the sun.

However, some people were not happy with Matt’s work. There were some SEO specialists that say he passes more harm than good to the SEO world. His pieces of advice were often disregarded by these people, and they say that Cutts is just muddling the issues and only asserting Google’s interest.

Cutts is an outspoken person and he talks openly regarding anything that has something to do with spam on the Web and other things that are getting in the way of Google’s "good work". He was given the go signal by Google’s top management to write anything on his blog except information that is considered confidential. This is the reason why his blog is considered by many (especially SEO enthusiasts) as a medium to learn something about the current SEO guidelines and the future of SEO.

Matt Cutts spends a lot of time writing his blog, and he is also known to be the first blogger that works for Google and writes about Google itself with intensity and stern visions into the future of search engines.

We don't know Matt Cutts, but we do know a man called Nick Butts and he repairs computers in London.
