What is an Access Control System?

Access control is a system that gives you the ability to permit or deny access to an entire building, area of a building or even just a room to a particular individual. The system locks and unlocks doors, gates and barriers. These doors are opened by entering a code into a keypad, presenting a key fob or swiping a card.

Why would I want an access control system?

For businesses, not only does it allow your employees through the front door, but it gives you control over access to restricted or sensitive areas inside your premises. e.g. the stock room, the computer server room etc. Offices, leisure centres, golf clubs, schools, warehouses, flats and self-storage facilities will all benefit from installing an Access Control System. It also allows you to monitor when your staff, for instance, arrive for work!

In a domestic capacity, it can be used as an alternative to physical keys, allowing access to flats and mews.

What if I lose a key fob or card?

If you lose an ordinary door key, if it is stolen or not returned by a former employee, to make sure you are completely secure, your only option is to replace the locks. This can be extremely costly. With an access control system, if a key fob, token or card is lost, the specific item can be deleted from the system - creating no compromise to security. A keypad number can be changed quickly and cheaply.

Keypad access to buildings

If you only have a few doors - or to open electronic gates in a mews perhaps, keypad access is an ideal solution. Keypad access is a low cost option for access control.

Stand alone card access panels

Again, if you have a small amount of doors in your building that you need to control access to, a Stand Alone Card Access panel is a great option. A proximity card reader is placed next to each door and programmed individually. Another low cost option for controlling access.

Computerized Access Control

In a large building with many doors that you wish to control access to, a Computerized Access Control System is the best solution. All access is controlled by a PC. This is a highly flexible Access Control System that can function as a time and attendance package, allow photo ID cards to be used and even incorporate biometric identification devices such as fingerprint readers.

All prices exclude VAT
Hourly rate charges are billed in 15 minute intervals with a minimum charge of one hour
All prices exclude congestion & parking charges (unless a parking permit for the duration of the visit is provided)
All prices exclude costs for materials which will be charged at list price + 30%
The final charge will include reasonable time to obtain parts if the jobs is to be completed on the same day
Alternatively, a fixed price of £30 can be applied for collection and delivery on an alternative day
Quotations are free of charge as long as you let us know of your decision within 14 days of issue. If you do not inform us of your decision, an administration charge of £25.00 will be levied.
